An Immersion in Arts and Culture
The educational experience at the University of New Haven far transcends what you learn in the classroom, and that is especially true in the arts. You will have the chance to, among a multitude of similar opportunities, get involved with the University’s record label, create art in the cradle of Renaissance, or showcase your talents on stage.
One thing is sure. No matter the co-curricular opportunities you get involved in, you will find a community that shares your creative spirit and your passion for the arts.
Join a Community of Creatives
The University’s arts-and-culture-themed Living Learning Communities (LLCs) enable you to live with fellow students who share the same interests and career goals. Through our LLCs, you’ll build relationships with your professors and students, take part in field trips, attend lectures, and become part of a close-knit group of fellow creatives.
Learn Using Cutting-Edge Technologies
From our music production studios and video editing labs to a costume shop and the state-of-the-art programs for our visual artists, you will find the facilities and resources you need to prepare to excel in the creative economy of the future.
Create and Perform Music
Beyond the University’s Marching band, which is one of the fastest growing in the country, we offer a variety of ensembles and music groups for all tastes of music. You’ll have the opportunity to take center stage as you perform on campus and in the community.
Immerse Yourself in Your Career or a New Culture
You’ll have the chance to create from the rooftop terrace of the University’s campus in Tuscany, Italy. Or you can rub elbows with leading artists and production professionals through our study away program at the world-renowned Blackbird Studio in Nashville. Whatever your goals, you’ll have the chance to step out of your comfort zone and take part in experiences you will remember for a lifetime.
Develop as a Creative Leader
The University offers of variety of arts- and culture-based clubs that enable you to build connections with your classmates, gain leadership experience, and enrich our campus community.
Take Center Stage
The curtain comes up in the University’s 300-seat theater for regularly sold out productions of American classics or thought-provoking student-written works that enhance the overall cultural atmosphere of the University and provide an outlet for artistic expression.
